Employee Spotlight: Farwa Iftikhar

From triathletes to restaurant owners, Impel has some amazing employees in its ranks. We’re introducing you to a new employee every month as part of our Employee Spotlight Series, giving you an inside look at our charismatic culture. This month, we’re introducing you to Software Engineer, Farwa Iftikhar, a fierce learner with a passion for helping others.

What do you do at Impel?

I am a Software Engineer on the L3 support team at Impel. I mostly deal with Impel integration on customer sites and integration related issues for existing customers.

Which core value resonates the most with you?

I relate strongly to Impel’s value of curiosity as it drives learning and motivates one to push their limits to grow. I am a learner who has an inherent need to observe and learn new things and am energized by the steady and deliberate journey from ignorance to competence. This spirit to learn motivates me to peer over the horizon. This curiosity leads me to learn from anything that comes my way in life be it personal relationships or professional dealings.

What’s your motto or personal mantra and how do you apply it to your job at Impel?

My motto is “honesty.” I believe in being honest with everything including my work, myself, my relationships and the people around me. With honesty comes the motivation to give my best to anything that life sends my way. I am honest with my job at Impel as I do my best to put in the effort and dedication needed to accomplish my job tasks successfully and I continuously look to improve my skill set in order to continue to perform my job capably. I am being honest with myself when I not only do my job successfully but also learn from my job and the Impel Fam and grow as a person.

What is something happening in your life right now that you’re most excited about?

I am always eager to give back to the community. Lately, the world has seen extremely adverse times and I most recently started collaborating with a friend’s NGO (non-governmental organization) back in Pakistan. I work with that organization closely to assist in as many ventures as I can including funding school education, helping financially constrained families and mentoring young children.

How do you spend your free time?

In my free time I mostly pick up a book to read or watch a movie. I also love to explore the city as I truly believe that NYC has so much to offer that I will continue to learn and grow as a person as I walk on the unknown streets and explore and observe the uniqueness around me.

What’s something about you that would surprise people?

I have a passion for theater acting and get a rare satisfaction by performing on the stage in front of a live audience.

Farwa’s curiosity brings out the best in conversations amongst colleagues, encouraging them to think profoundly and objectively. She is a wonderful asset to Team Impel!
